| There's a reason Red Rock Canyon is named Red Rock Canyon: monumental red and tan rocks. Outcroppings, long slabs, canyon walls, overhanging faces of huge red sandstone rock. Rock formed millions of years ago when an ancient ocean seabed was forced thousands of feet upwards. The Santa Monica Mountains rose up from that sea. |
